Our Story

Our journey started one tired Saturday morning. After too many days of settling for coffee (just because we were too lazy to deal with all the matcha tools) we thought: man, I wish there was a matcha we could make in a minute, without the whole process and the special equipment.
We started texting each other - what if we created it ourselves? With 10+ years of food industry experience, we thought… maybe we could actually pull it off?

Cut to a few weeks later, we’re in the kitchen, tasting 20 different matcha powders from Japan. After about 15 samples and way too much caffeine, we found the perfect one: it tasted amazing and dissolved better than the rest. And, it was organic! Which was super important to us.
After two failed kitchen experiments, we realized we needed an expert to help us create our products. We found a food scientist who's a matcha expert, and together we tested ingredient after ingredient to find the cleanest, most effective way to get it to dissolve instantly.

Eventually, we chose our two winners - Classic Blend and Not Too Sweet Blend.

For almost a year, we’ve been working on our products, production process, and building a brand that resonates with people like us - people who want to incorporate healthier habits into their lives, but don’t have a lot of time (or patience) to make sophisticated drinks.

So why Grab'a?

When we were building our brand, we thought of more than 20 different names (some too controversial to share online), but none of them felt right. We wanted a name that captures the feeling of making our drink - quick, easy and packed with all the great benefits of matcha, such as sustainable energy and calm focus.

When the name Grab’a came up, we instantly knew that's the one. First, because it sounds like “grab a coffee” or “grab a matcha”, so you know it’s a quick, on-the-go drink.
Second, it includes the word Gaba, which is the neurotransmitter activated by L-theanine that helps give matcha its calming effect.

Our Ingredients

When we created the Grab'a products, we had two ground rules:

  1. No BS ingredients - only natural ingredients, no fillers or preservatives.
  2. Matcha is the first ingredient. Unlike other brands, we didn’t want a blend that's 90% sugar with a sprinkle of matcha. In both our blends, matcha is the first ingredient.

We use 100% organic and Non-GMO ingredients. Each blend starts with organic Japanese matcha , and is paired with a unique ingredient that helps it dissolve easily.

Our Products

Classic Blend: we paired matcha with Organic Jerusalem Artichoke Inulin - a natural, flavorless plant fiber that dissolves easily in water. It helps the matcha mix evenly without affecting the flavor or texture. If you’re looking for an unsweetened matcha that stirs up clean and easy, this is your go-to.

Not Too Sweet - we paired matcha with Organic Coconut Sugar - a natural sweetener that’s more natural than cane sugar and has a lower glycemic index, making it a better fit for daily matcha with a touch of sweetness. Coconut sugar also dissolves easily in warm water, which helps the matcha mix smoothly without clumping.
This one’s perfect if you like your matcha just a little sweet, without it feeling like a dessert drink.
